For as long as I can remember, I've loved all things hair. My father was a barber so we always had tons of hair products at the house. Combs, clippers, razors... I would stand in the bathroom and "cocktail" pomades and gels for me and my dolls. A career in the beauty industry was inevitable.
Before cosmetology, I worked as a graphic designer and I worked in Art education. My art degree translated seamlessly into cosmetology, the same principles apply. It feels good to mesh the two. When I decided to become a professional hairstylist, I looked for a school that was inline with how I try to live my life. Aveda Institute checked all of the boxes and I was very happy with my experience.
After a couple of years behind the chair, I took advantage of an opportunity to become a cosmetology teacher. I taught for a few years and I returned to full time work as a stylist. I still enjoy teaching and was even a part of the Deva Curl education team.
I have multiple cutting certifications through Aveda. I also have certifications from the Rëzo Academy and the Deva Curl Academy. I've been a hairstylist for almost 15 years. This work continues to be amazing!
